Euston station taxi guide
Euston station taxi rank: current passenger guide
Euston’s taxi arrangements have changed during HS2 and station construction. Current official information places the interim main rank in the eastern Euston Square Gardens area, in front of the bus station near Eversholt Street and Euston Road.
TfL’s open-data record still uses the historic name Euston Station Colonnade. Treat the current station signs and staff directions as authoritative. This guide deliberately does not send passengers to the old colonnade location.

Step by step
How to find the rank
- 1
From the main concourse, follow the current black-taxi signs towards the station forecourt and bus station.
- 2
Look for temporary wayfinding to the eastern Euston Square Gardens area. Do not rely on older directions to the former basement or colonnade rank.
- 3
Passengers needing the accessible pickup point should ask station staff before leaving the concourse, because the gardens are divided by the temporary works layout.
- 4
Construction routes can change. On-site signs and staff instructions always override this page.

Accessibility and assistance
Official TfL material says part of the western gardens was retained for accessible taxi pickup and drop-off when the interim rank opened.
The London Assembly has continued to discuss access to the interim facility. If step-free access or a short walking distance is essential, arrange Passenger Assist and ask staff to confirm the current accessible boarding point on arrival.

Rail, Tube and local connections
- Euston Underground serves the Northern and Victoria lines. Euston Square station, serving Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines, is a separate street-level walk.
- National Rail services include West Coast Main Line routes and London Overground.
- King’s Cross and St Pancras are nearby but separate stations. Do not underestimate the transfer with luggage or mobility needs.

Practical passenger tips
- Allow additional time for temporary pedestrian routes around the construction area.
- Photographs and older maps of Euston may show taxi facilities that no longer operate in the same place.
- For a booked private-hire car, use the operator’s named collection point. Road restrictions can prevent collection directly outside the station.
Useful for onward journeys
Popular destinations from Euston
These are orientation ideas, not fixed-fare quotes. London taxi fares are metered and journey time depends on traffic, restrictions and the exact destination.
Bloomsbury
Provide the exact hotel, hospital or university building entrance.
Regent’s Park
Name the gate or venue you need because the park covers a large area.
King’s Cross and St Pancras
State the correct station and train departure time. They are close, but not interchangeable.
Central London hotels
A postcode helps distinguish similar hotel names and avoids an unnecessary detour.
Black taxi or minicab?
A licensed London taxi can wait at an appointed rank and accept a passenger without a booking. A minicab or app-based private-hire vehicle must be booked through a licensed operator before the journey. Do not accept an unsolicited ride from someone approaching you inside or outside the station.
Taxi availability is not live. A valid rank can be empty for a period, particularly late at night or during disruption.
Common questions
Euston taxi-rank FAQs
Where is the taxi rank at Euston now?
Official current information places the interim main rank by the front of the bus station in the eastern Euston Square Gardens area. Follow on-site signs.
Why does TfL data say Euston Station Colonnade?
That is the historic location name retained in the open-data record. Construction has changed the passenger route, so this guide uses current station information.
Is there an accessible taxi pickup?
TfL provided a separate accessible pickup and drop-off area in the gardens. Ask station staff to confirm its current position.

It may. Euston is an active construction area, so current signs and staff directions take priority.
